How to Design Solid Tokenomics: Free Tokenomics Calculator
If you’re prepping the launch of a new token and want to make sure your tokenomics is dialed in, in this article I’ll walk you through the Tokenomics calculator I built in Excel.
This tool I built simplifies the process of putting together detailed, effective tokenomics. In this article, I’ll walk you through how to use this framework, its features, and how it can benefit your token launch.
It walks you through the whole process, from setting initial parameters to mapping out token distribution, making sure you cover every essential piece for a successful token launch.
Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Tokenomics Calculator
Step 1: Access the CSV
Once you get the CSV file, the first thing you’ll see is the home page with some intro info. To start editing, you need to make a copy of the file. Click ‘Make a Copy’ and you’ll have a new editable version of the CSV.
Step 2: Set Initial Parameters
Start by entering the current price of the coin you’ll use, like Solana. For example, if the current price of Solana is $160, plug that figure into the CSV. This value feeds into several calculations like market cap, liquidity pool, and total value locked.

Step 3: Enter Key Dates
Enter the key dates: pre-sale start date, funding date, and liquidity pool launch date. This helps you stay on top of your timeline and hit every deadline you need to.

Step 4: Enter Token Data
Fill in the basic details of your token. I’ll show you with our own memecoin $SHRIMP:
- Token Name: For example, Shrimp.
- Ticker: SHRIMP.
- Supply: Total supply, for example, 1 billion tokens.
- Decimals: The number of decimal places your token supports.
- Description: A short description of your token.
- Contract Address: Your token’s smart contract address.
- Deployer Wallet: The wallet with authority to deploy the token.

These details help you keep track of your token’s essential info.
Step 5: Tokenomics Page
Head to the tokenomics page to see a visual breakdown of your token distribution. This section covers several categories such as:
- Liquidity Pool: Usually 10-40% for utility tokens, 70-90% for meme coins.
- Airdrops: 10-20%.
- Team Allocation: 5-10% (or zero, depending on your strategy).
For team allocation, it’s common to assign a small percentage so the team stays incentivized without dominating the token supply. You can find examples of successful tokenomics on platforms like Coincarp.
There, you can study the tokenomics of established tokens like Bonk, Jupiter, and Jito, which offer a range of allocation strategies.

Detailed Calculations for Your Token Launch
Pre-Sale Page
This section helps you calculate your fundraising targets:
- Hard Cap: The maximum amount you want to raise, for example, 100 Sol.
- Sale Price: Set the price per token.
- Minimum and Maximum Buy Amounts: The range for individual buys, for example, minimum 0.1 Sol and maximum 3 Sol.
This helps you set how much each investor can buy and your total funding potential.
Liquidity Pool Page
Summarizes the conditions of your liquidity pool:
- Funding Amount: Total raised plus any extra funds you contribute.
- Launch Price: The initial price of your token on the liquidity pool.
- Market Cap: The total market cap based on the launch price.
For example, if you raised 100 Sol and add another 100 Sol, the total funding for the liquidity pool would be 200 Sol.
Airdrop Details
Calculate the cost and distribution of your airdrop:
- Total Tokens for Airdrop: The number of tokens allocated for the airdrop.
- Number of Wallets: How many wallets will receive the airdrop.
- Cost per Transaction: Fees tied to distributing the airdrop.
For example, allocating 100 million tokens to 10,000 wallets will show the total cost and the amount each wallet will receive.
Find Examples of Successful Tokenomics
I can’t stress enough how important it is to study successful tokenomics before designing your own. Sites like CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap are great resources for this.
You can look up the initial token allocations of well-known projects and see how they distribute tokens across categories like liquidity pool, airdrops, team, advisors, marketing, and treasury.
Final Review and Adjustments
Once you’ve filled in all the details, head back to the summary page for a full overview of your tokenomics. It pulls together all the key info, making it easy to review and tweak as needed.
You can make changes at any stage, and the tool will automatically update the relevant calculations.
