Crypto Wallet क्या होता है?
Crypto wallet एक ऐसा tool है जो blockchain पर assets को access और manage करने के लिए जरूरी private keys store करता है। यह tokens को directly hold नहीं करता (tokens on-chain exist करते हैं), लेकिन private key के बिना आप transactions authorize नहीं कर सकते।
Wallets कैसे काम करते हैं
wallet एक public address (bank account number की तरह) और एक private key (PIN की तरह) generate करता है। Public address वो जगह है जहाँ आप funds receive करते हैं। private key transactions को sign करके sending authorize करता है। जिसके पास भी आपकी private key हो, उसका आपके assets पर पूरा control हो जाता है। ज़्यादातर wallets आपको एक seed phrase भी देते हैं: 12 या 24 words की एक series, जो device का access खोने पर private key को regenerate कर सकती है।
Custodial बनाम Non-Custodial
Custodial wallet वो होता है जिसे कोई third party manage करती है, आमतौर पर CEX जैसे Coinbase या Binance। Exchange private keys hold करता है और आप username और password से login करते हैं। Non-custodial wallet आपको अपनी keys का पूरा control देता है। अगर जिस exchange पर आपके funds हैं वो fail हो जाए, तो आपका access चला जाता है। Non-custodial wallet में सिर्फ आप ही keys control करते हैं और seed phrase को safe रखना भी सिर्फ आपकी ज़िम्मेदारी है।
Wallets के प्रकार
Hot wallets internet से connected होते हैं, जो इन्हें frequent use के लिए convenient बनाता है लेकिन hacks का खतरा भी बढ़ाता है। Cold wallets (hardware wallets) keys को offline store करते हैं और इन्हें compromise करना बहुत मुश्किल होता है, हालांकि ये कम convenient होते हैं। Solana पर सबसे common hot wallets Phantom और Solflare हैं। Ledger जैसे hardware wallets multiple chains पर काम करते हैं।

seed phrase 12 या 24 words की एक series होती है जो wallet create करते समय generate होती है। यह एक backup है जो device खो जाने पर आपकी private key regenerate कर सकती है। जिसके पास भी आपकी seed phrase हो, वो आपका wallet control कर सकता है।
Hot wallet internet से connected होता है, जो इसे convenient बनाता है लेकिन vulnerable भी। Cold wallet keys को hardware पर offline store करता है, जिसे hack करना बहुत मुश्किल है, हालांकि frequent use के लिए कम convenient है।
Exchanges custodial होते हैं: वो आपकी keys hold करते हैं। अगर exchange hack हो जाए या insolvent हो जाए, तो आपके funds खतरे में पड़ सकते हैं। ज़्यादातर experienced users buying के बाद assets को self-custody wallet में move कर लेते हैं।
