How to Add a Logo and Update the Details of a Token on Base

If you created a token on the Base blockchain, you will probably want to add an image/logo, social media links, and other editable details. That makes your token easier to recognize and more appealing to investors.

Keep in mind that you will need:

  • Access to the wallet used to create the token on base.
  • The contract address of the token whose information you want to edit.
  • Log in to the block explorer where the token is hosted, in this case basescan.org.
  • Complete the “Exact Match Verified” step for the token contract address in the block explorer.
  • Complete “Verify Address Ownership” for the token.
  • Fill out the form to edit the token information.

If you don’t yet have tu Base token y estás pensando en crear uno, te dejo una guía acerca de cómo generarlo de la manera más sencilla posible.

Step 1: Complete “Exact Match Verified” on basescan.org

Go to basescan.org and, using the wallet that owns the token, meaning the one used to create the token, paste the token contract address into the explorer at the top to open the token page view.

Complete the “sign in” and/or “login” process in the block explorer. You will find the access point in the top-right corner.

Once you’re on the token page, go to the Transfers section and open the “Contract” tab. Click “Verify and Publish” and follow the steps requested by the block explorer. To avoid mistakes, follow this Basescan guide.

A verified token will look like this:

Step 2: Complete “Verify Address Ownership” on basescan.org

After you log in, go to your user profile in the top-right corner and, from the dropdown, open the “Verified Address” section. You will see a screen like the one below, where you can verify ownership of the token by clicking “Add Address”.

Follow the steps shown by the block explorer. When you see the option to “Sign Message Manually” or “Connect to Web3”, choose the second one and connect the wallet used to create the token. Keep approving the required transactions and finish the process in just a few more simple, intuitive steps.

The information you want to add will be reviewed by the basescan.org support team. You can also update existing information, but every change is still subject to approval.

Step 3 (final): fill out the form to add a logo to a token on Base

To add a logo to your Base token, you must first complete the “Exact Match Verified” and “Verify Ownership” processes.

A token with an image/logo and links looks like this in the explorer:

Add a logo and update Base Token information

Recently, customizable data started requiring verification by the bscscan.org team. Below, we break down the process from basescan’s own published guide:

  1. Open the official Token Update Application Form: enter the contract address of your token in the basescan.org form to update a token.
  2. Add a logo for your token on Base: it must be a downloadable PNG with a 32×32 resolution.
  3. Wait for the platform team to reply: this can take a little while. Be patient, or reply to the confirmation email you receive to request an update on the status of your changes.
  4. Avoid overhyped descriptions: if you add a website, make sure you don’t include big claims like “the most-used token” or anything similar. That could get your request rejected.

This process is completely free, and you can only add a logo to your token on Base or update social media links if you have completed the verification process described above.

Want to skip the whole verification process? With the Smithii Base Token Creator, your token is verified by default from the moment it is created.

You can also use the volume tool for Base to support organic traffic and rank first on screeners.

Final Thoughts on Adding a Logo and Links to a Base token

Adding a logo is essential for building trust in your token, since users will see it when they import it into their wallet or interact with the liquidity pool on a decentralized exchange like Uniswap. Adding an image to your token also strengthens its identity and your broader project presence, building branding and awareness around it.

On the other hand, adding links to social media or other information sources makes it easier for investors to research your token, adding transparency and persuasive signals that can help them decide to buy.
