How to make an Airdrop on Solana without programming
If you wish to make an Airdrop on Solana, that is, transfer a Solana Network Token to several wallets, this post is for you. We will demonstrate how to create an Airdrop Solana Token in only a few minutes and without writing a single line of code.
In addition, we can do it for only 30 cents each wallet. (which includes transaction fees). Without further ado, let's go directly to the steps on how to make an Airdrop on Solana.

Airdrop Solana Token step by step
To do the Airdrop on Solana we are going to utilize our tool "Solana Multisender". Basically it is a dApp that will airdrop the token of your choice to your preferred wallets. in just a few minutes.

- Access to Solana Multisender (https://tools.smithii.io/token-multisender/solana)
- Connect your wallet to be able to use the tool.
- Select your Token (you must have it in the connected wallet for it to appear)
- Select the amount you want to send to each wallet
- Type or paste the list of wallets (you can also upload a CSV file containing the list of wallets or enable the snapshot copy the holders of another token).
- Click "Send", which will open a transaction in your wallet.
- Accept the transaction (it will contain the sending of the tokens and the payment of the Fees per transaction).
After confirming the transaction the airdrop will start. We will see how it progresses until it is completely finished.
Make a snapshot in the Multisender tool
When selecting the "Method to load Addresses," you can enable the " Snapshot Holders" or "Tokens Holders" feature. Once you do this and select any token the Solana network, all holder wallets will automatically be added to the list of addresses.
This option complements your strategy, in addition to combining it with the use of a Solana Bot, if you want to promote your tokens in the same ecosystem or community of another project. For more information, we recommend our article on the Solana snapshot .
What is an Airdrop
We call airdrop or bulksend the tokens are sent in bulk to a specified list of wallets. . In the case of Solana airdrops, we refer to the SOL token or any SPL token on the Solana Blockchain.
It is a widely used method of promotion, as you can send tokens to participants of communities or other projects already established on the network. You can also create a claim site without programming to have a page where other people can claim their airdrop tokens.
Examples of this strategy can be found in projects such as Jupiter, Marginfi or Kamino. Each achieved an unprecedented potential increase in activity and interaction in a very short time.
Benefits of an Airdrop in Solana
As Solana is full of "Degens", each one is looking for the opportunity to "farm an airdrop", so any one of them will be attractive to them. The advantages of an airdrop in Solana are as follows:
- It is a very effective and fast way of distribution.
- Increases the number of holders.
- Possibility of having a high range.
- It is a simple way to start a marketing campaign.
- The token goes viral due to its large number of holders.
Nevertheless, having a strategy is fundamental, as an Airdrop alone will not do all the work for your token to take off.

How much does it cost to make an Airdrop?
The cost of conducting an Airdrop on Solana depends on the number of wallets to which you send the tokens and whether those wallets already hold the token or not.
Calculation formula:
(Tool Fee + Transaction Fee) x Wallet amount
where:
- 0.001 SOL is the commission of the tool used.
- 0.00204 SOL is the Solana fee for sending a token to a wallet that does not yet hold it.
- 0.00001 SOL is the Solana fee if the wallet already holds the token.
Example of costs:
If you want to send tokens to 1,000 wallets:
If no wallet has the token yet:
(0.001 + 0.00204) x 1000 = 3.04 SOL
If all wallets already have the token:
(0.001 + 0.00001) x 1000 = 1.01 SOL
If 50% of the wallets already hold the token and 50% do not:
(500 x 0.00101) + (500 x 0 .00304) = 0.505 SOL + 1.52 SOL = 2.025 SOL
Therefore, the total cost will depend on the number of recipients and whether they already hold the token in their wallet. However, the cost significantly increases when the wallet does not possess the token. This indicates that rewarding the community is considerably more cost-effective than promoting to new users.
How to carry out the Airdrop campaign (Personal Experience)
There are a couple of recommendations that, based on experience, have proven to be successful for airdrop campaigns:
Create anticipation: Announce the airdrop with a specific date. Set a 7-day countdown on Twitter and Discord, and during that time, each day release a small teaser or related meme . People love hype. You can look at Pengu's case, which will have been one of the most important airdrops in 2024.
Reward the real community: Ask interested people to make minimal interactions (like + retweet + subscribe to Discord). This way I filtered out more genuine people. It is not 100% infallible, but I noticed the change in the quality of holders.
Hassle-free token delivery: I used a no-code platformSmithii). I literally plugged in the wallet, pasted the address list and it approved the transaction. Not one line of code. It saved me headaches.
airdrop gamification: Offers weekly drawings (small token bonuses) and even an NFT giveaway for those who keep the tokens for a certain period. Works better than dropping tokens and crossing your fingers.
Maximize outreach: I convinced a couple of crypto influencers to tweet about the airdrop in exchange for a % of tokens (watch out for inflation).
Keep the project alive: After the airdrop, share a roadmap or concrete goal. There is nothing worse than giving away tokens and leaving people hanging, with no idea where the project is going.
That's essentially what worked for me to expand the holder Base and prevent the token from experiencing excessive depreciation.
Is it safe to Airdrop with this tool?
Furthermore, the tool will never have access to your tokens, NFTs, etc. It will simply prompt you to approve the transaction with the necessary tokens for the airdrop. Consequently, your assets will be secure.
Also our Smart Contract is audited by different developers, so they have no risk.

Frequently Asked Questions about Airdrops
Here are a few more questions that may solve your doubts before you start doing an Airdrop in Solana:
What is the minimum SOL I need in my wallet to cover the fees?
It depends on how many addresses you include in the airdrop. For a small group (e.g. 100 wallets), 0.1 SOL is usually enough.
How many addresses can I upload at one time?
Smithii allows pasting an extensive list of addresses or uploading them via a CSV file.
What happens if a wallet didn't have the token ?
When you send a token the first time, the associated account (ATA) is automatically created in that wallet. This slightly increases transaction fees, but the dApp handles it for you.
Can I limit the number of tokens each wallet receives?
Yes. Smithii allows
What do I do if I uploaded repeated or wrong addresses?
Answer: Before launching the airdrop, check the list and remove duplicates. Many platforms automatically flag invalid addresses ("malformed wallets") and allow you to correct them before proceeding.
Can I test my airdrop first on a test network (Testnet/Devnet)?
Yes. To avoid spending real SOL, you can use Solana's testnet or devnet. You can use Solana Faucet for this.
How do I check if the airdrop was successful?
Each transaction generates a link in SolScan. From there, you can check which addresses the tokens were sent to and how many each specific wallet received.
Is making an Airdrop the same as Bulksend tokens?
Yes, it is exactly the same.
Conclusion
Making an Airdrop is beneficial for the promotion and growth of our NFT project. We must always remember that as a method and much more if we have a tool that does not create obstacles but rather facilitates them.
