Find Contract Address Token

How to find Token Contract Adress (3 VERY quick ways)

There are three very quick ways to find the Token Contract Address, whether it's on Ethereum or a Layer 2. I’ll explain them below. Any of the three will only take you a minute.

1. In your wallet

If it is a token that you have in your wallet, the fastest way is to consult it through the application.

1.1 Ethereum Token and Layer 2

In the MetaMask extension, you can find the contract address of a token as follows:

How to view a Token contract address on Metamask.
  1. Open MetaMask and go to the "Tokens" tab.
  2. Select the token whose contract you wish to view.
  3. Click on the three vertical dots menu and select "View asset in explorer". This will take you to the contract address of the token in the active network.

1.2 Solana Tokens

If you use Phantom, you can view the token at Solscan by clicking on the token and then on the 3 dots.

2. Blockchain Explorers

Lock explorers such as Etherscan, BscScan or Polygonscan store data about ERC-20 tokens and their equivalents in other networks. To find the contract address of a token, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the explorer corresponding to the token's network (the best known are Etherscan, BscScan, Polygonscan or Solscan).
  2. Search for the desired token using its name or symbol.
  3. The contract address will be clearly indicated on the token page.

2.1 Ethereum Token Contract Address

If your token is Ethereum go to Etherscan and in the upper right corner look for the token with its name or symbol.

on Etherscan, when searching for a token, the contract address is displayed along with other token details. On a desktop browser, you will see a copy icon when hovering over the address, while on mobile this icon is always visible.

2.2 Polygon Token Contract Address

If your token is from the Polygon network, go to Polygonscan and enter the token name or symbol in the search engine.

2.3 BNB Chain Token Contract Address

If your token is from the BSC network, go to BscScan and enter the token name or symbol in the search engine.

2.4 Solana Token Address

If your token is from the Solana network, go to Solscan and enter the token name or symbol in the search engine.

3. Token listing site

Sites such as CoinGecko y CoinMarketCap keep track of all existing tokens. To find the contract address of a token on these sites:

Search for the token by its name or symbol on the listing site.

2. On the token page, look for the "Contract" category. This section will show the token address on Ethereum mainnet by default, but you can view addresses on other networks by clicking on the three dots.

Example:

On the Shiba Inu (SHIB) page at CoinGecko, the contract address is shown in the "Contract" category. You can copy it by clicking on the copy icon.

What is Contract Address?

It is a unique identifier for a smart contract that is deployed on a blockchain. It defines the functions and rules of a token or a dApp. It is useful for verifying authenticity, tracking associated transactions and interacting with the contract's applications.

Can the Contract Address be changed?

No, a contract address is registered on a blockchain and, by nature, blockchain records are immutable. Therefore, a contract address cannot be changed at any time.

What is the difference between a Contract Address and a wallet address? wallet?

Contract addresses identify smart contracts for programs or applications on the blockchain. The address of a wallet is used to identify users who can transfer or store cryptocurrencies.

Where do I find the Contract Address of a token?

You can find the contract address from your own walletusing a browser(scanner on each blockchain) or a token listing site (like CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap). These are the most accessible places to find the contract address and the guidelines to do it each way are explained above.

I have the Token Contract Adress, what do I do now?

Once you have found the contract address of your token, you can perform a token snapshot to obtain a list of holders of that token.
