WHAT WAS Solana'S FIRST NFT
We all tend to think about what the beginning of something was like, and of course, Solana's NFTs won't be different.
Although there is muchdebate about which was the first NFT Project created in the Solana network, there is only one reality, and if there is one thing we know about the blockchain, it is that it does not lie.
This is the first transaction of a NFT mint on Solana: https://explorer.Solana.com/tx/4HqFpv5WUQAfKeqPrnfUnmNB3HabSL5Q31H5upMBZKEYC4CzTDFqNnTY5KDXcU59LsQsNQFeNJ9XL98msg5fKewe
Do you want to know which NFT it belongs to?
In this post, we are going to unravel this whole story and find out what is the real first Solana NFT collection.

KREECHURES: THE FIRST NFT on Solana'S HISTORY
If you don't want to dive into details and simply want to know what Solana's first NFT was, the answer is: Kreechures.

Yes, this animal you see was the first NFT ever created at Solana. It belongs to the Kreechures collection, the very first collection from which an NFT was minted. It was not the first one to be sold out, and certainly not the best known.

WHAT IS KREECHURES?
As we mentioned, Kreechures was the first existing project in the Solana Network. It was created "when everything was in the field", there was no Magic Eden, no Phantom, not even metadata in the NFT.
In this context, on March 26, 2021, the first mint transaction was made at Solana, which brought to life the Kreechure NFT image you see above.

Originally the total supply of the collection was 20k NFTs, but Kreechures did not get enough notoriety to sell them and after some time with the public mint available they burned the remaining supply, changing the supply to 5,000.
These 5k NFTs are made up of 49 "species" of Kreechures that are divided into 3 rarities. But the reality is that Kreechures have not had the relevance they could have as Solana's first collection, unlike other OG projects we will discuss below.
WHY THERE IS DEBATE ABOUT Solana'S FIRST NFT
The debate is generated by the community itself and by Solarians. It was one of the first NFTs created on Solana, but they were not the first.
Solarians calls itself Solana's first Generative NFT collection and claims to be the first. But their mint was realized in April 2021, a few days later than Kreechures.
They have not reached the top of Solana, but we cannot take away the recognition of being OGs.

SOLPUNKS: Solana'S FIRST SOLD OUT
There is also some debate because the collections we have mentioned tookquite sometime to complete their mint. So we can say that the first collection to Sold Out at Solana was SolPunks.
SolPunks completed its mint on June 14, 2021, thus becoming the firstcollectiontosold out and also traded (although in those days it was p2p in a Telegram group).
In this case they became very relevant and took over Solana's throne for a while, achieving sales of almost $400,000.

Solana MONKEY BUSINESS: THE KINGS OF Solana
We cannot discuss Solana's first NFT collections without mentioning Solana Monkey Business. They were and will be for a long time the Kings of Solana for what they have achieved.
They made their first mint on June 2, 2021, of their firstgeneration, which is not the one we all know.

Later in August, they made the mint of the second generation, this one the mega known by everyone in the NFT sector.
SMB has made history with the most expensive NFT sale at Solana of +$2,000,000.

CONCLUSION
Solana has had an incredible impact on the NFT sector with incredible numbers. Its history is fairly recent, but very interesting to learn about.
The goldenage of NFTs was in 2021, do you think we will see something like that again in the future?
