Before we start with the step-by-step tutorial, let's see what exactly is a snapshot in NFT and what can we use it for.
WHAT IS SNAPSHOT NFT HOLDERS
As its name suggests, a snapshot is a "snapshot" of the wallets held by the NFTs belonging to a particular collection. That is, a snapshot in NFT is a list of wallets that are holding certain NFTs.
This allows us to offer different solutions and utilities that we will see below.
WHAT DATA DOES A SNAPSHOT OF NFT HOLDERS GIVE US?
Of course, when taking a snapshot, we will receive the list of wallets that hold an NFT collection, but depending on the tool we use to take the snapshot it may give us some extra information.
The most frequent extra data we can obtain are the NFTs that each portfolio has and the id of the NFT that owns that portfolio, all this in CSV format for easy analysis and use.
It should be noted that most commonly, we simply receive the wallets with the number of NFTs that they hold in JSON format.
MOST COMMON USES OF AN NFT SNAPSHOT
When we talk about Snapshot, it automatically comes to mind that we will make an airdrop. And that's really the most common thing; we make a snapshot to later reward our holders by making an airdrop; either for revenue sharing, to distribute a token, or to distribute NFTs.
It is also common to make a snapshot to give access to a presale or a whitelist.
Let's get to work; we begin the step-by-step tutorial to make a Snapshot of Holders NFT.

Snapshot Ethereum
HOW TO MAKE SNAPSHOT HOLDERS NFT ETHEREUM
We first need to know which Ethereum NFT collection we want to make the snapshot; it can be either ERC721 or ERC1155. Once we have it clear, we can start the three steps; in a few minutes you will have your snapshot ready.
1. CONTRACT ADDRESS OF THE NFT COLLECTION
The first step is to find the smart contract's address in the NFT collection and copy it.
To find it we will access Opensea (also applicable to other marketplaces) and search for the NFT collection we want to snapshot.
Once we are on the collection page we will enter any NFT. Then scroll down to the "details" section. Open the drop-down and click on the "contract address".
This will open the etherscan page; copy the address to the right of "contract".

2. TAKE SNAPSHOT ETHEREUM
Once you have the Address you will have to paste it in the Smithii tool to make Snapshot of Ethereum NFT holders and press Take Snapshot.

3. EXPORT AND USE SNAPSHOT
Once the snapshot is completed, the tool will open a new page with all the wallets holding our NFT collection.
This page will show the snapshot with the wallets and a search engine that allows us to find a specific wallet. We also see buttons that allow us to copy all wallets, export to a TXT file, share the snapshot with a link, and even create a Merkle tree.
Snapshot Solana
HOW TO MAKE SNAPSHOT HOLDERS NFT Solana
If we want to make a snapshot of the NFT holders on Solana we must have a clear to which NFT collection we want to do it. You can follow either the metaplex protocol or Magic Eden's Open Creator Protocol. These three steps tutorials will work in both cases, so let's go for it.
1. GET CREATOR ADDRESS FOR SNAPSHOT NFT
In order to make a snapshot of the holders of a Solana NFT Collection we will first need to have its Creator Address, that is, the address that identifies our NFT Collection.
If you prefer the video we also have it available:
We start looking for the ID of any NFT belonging to the collection from which we will make the snapshot. For this, we have two options:
1. Through your wallet: access the NFT within your wallet. Click on the three dots at the top right and then click on "View in Solscan".

2. Through Magic Eden: access the NFT from Magic Eden, and scroll down to the "details" section. There click on the solscan logo where it says "Mint Address".

When we are in solscan, we will click on the "Creators" dropdown. Then, we click on the first address, which will have a 0%.

This address is the ID of the NFT collection. It will be opened into solscan, and we must copy it.

Once the ID has been copied, we will go directly to the Snapshot.
2. MAKE SNAPSHOT Solana
After having copied the Creator Address we have to use another tool that will make the snapshot for us.
You simply need to access our Solana Snapshot NFT (https://tools.smithii.io/snapshot/Solana) Tool.
Here we will be able to do the Snapshot and obtain the list of Holders in just a few minutes, for only 0.1 SOL.
Once we are on the web we will connect the wallet, paste the CreatorAddress and click on "Take Snapshot".
This will open the transaction in our Wallet with which we will pay the 0.1 SOL Fee. Once accepted , the process to obtain the Snapshot will begin .

Once this is done, it is time to wait for the process to finish.
3. EXPORT AND USE SNAPSHOT
Once the snapshot is completed, the tool will automatically open the list of holders which can be copied or exported as a CSV file.
With that CSV we can do whatever we want: make Airdrop on Solana, control how our NFT collection is distributed, etc.
Snapshot Base
HOW TO MAKE SNAPSHOT HOLDERS NFT BASE
The first thing we must know is which NFT collection of Base we want to make the snapshot, it can be either ERC721 or ERC1155. Once we have it clear we can begin the 3 steps, in a few minutes you will have your snapshot ready.

To find it we will access Opensea (also applicable to other marketplaces) and search for the NFT collection we want to snapshot.

Once we are on the collection page we will enter any NFT. Then scroll down to the "details" section. Open the drop-down and click on the "contract address".
This will open the BaseScan page, there we simply copy the "contract" address.

2. MAKE SNAPSHOT BASE
Once you have the Address you must paste it in the Smithii tool to make Snapshot of NFT holders of Base and press Take Snapshot.

Snapshot Polygon

Snapshot Cardano
HOW TO MAKE SNAPSHOT HOLDERS NFT CARDANO
Before taking the snapshot, we must know to which Cardano NFT collection we will take. When you have it clear it is time to start with these three simple steps; in a few minutes, you will have your snapshot ready!
1. POLICY ID OF THE NFT COLLECTION
Our first step is to get the Policy ID of our NFT collection and copy it.
To find it, go to the JPG Store (you can do the same in other marketplaces) and search for the NFT collection you want to snapshot.
When you are on the collection page, you can access any NFT in the collection. Just below the name of the NFT you will see the "Policy ID" section that you should copy.

2. TAKE SNAPSHOT CARDANO
After copying the Policy ID of the NFTs, we have to use a tool that makes the snapshot. In the case of Cardano we recommend using nmkr.io.
To use their tool we must register. So we start by accessing their website and clicking the button at the top right that says "Start for Free".

This will open a registration form that we must fill in to access its functionalities. Complete it to continue.

After registration, you will see a dashboard like the one in the picture; go to the Policy Snapshot section on the left.

To finish, just paste the Policy ID in the "Enter policyid" box and click on the "search" button.

A handy feature of the NMKR snapshot tool is that it allows us to see which NFTs are within staking and which are not.
3. EXPORT AND USE SNAPSHOT
After waiting a few seconds, the tool will give us the results of all the NFTs in our collection with the respective wallet that owns them, also indicating whether it is in Staking or not.
If we scroll down, we will see the "export addresses" button, so we can use the snapshot as we want.
