How to Create a token on Raydium: Step-by-Step Guide
If you want your own token listed on one of the largest decentralized exchanges in the Solana ecosystem, you’re in the right place.
Raydium stands out for its fast transactions and low fees. Those strengths make it an AMM that brings in millions of crypto traders every day, ready to put funds into the tokens that catch their eye.
Below, we’ll show you how to create a token on Raydium in just 2 simple steps, plus a few extra things to keep in mind.
How Do You List a token on Raydium?
Before listing your token on Raydium, you’ll need at least 0.9 SOL in your Solana Wallet to cover the required fees during the token creation process and the launch of the liquidity pool.

Have a 1000 x 1000 PNG image ready to bring your token concept to life. Pick something that clearly reflects your original idea, whether that is a funny meme or a symbol that fits the logo perfectly.
Here we will use a straightforward step-by-step flow to get your token available for swaps on Raydium, without going through launchpads like Pump Fun or LaunchLab, which would only slow the process down.
1. Create your token (no code)
The first step is to mint the token on Solana. In practice, that means registering the initial data for your token.
Think of it as reserving a digital spot on the blockchain and assigning the basic tokenomics with the Solana Token Creator, which lets you do it in minutes without writing code.

- Open the Solana Token Creator tool (https://tools.smithii.io/token-creator/solana).
- Connect your wallet.
- Fill in the fields (Name, Symbol, Decimals = 6, Supply = 1 000 000 000, Description + logo).
- Optional: add links and tags to the metadata (Raydium, token, etc.)
- Check Revoke Freeze Authority (required to appear on Raydium)
- Check Revoke Mint Authority to build trust.
- Click Create Token and sign the tx.
Done. In just a few clicks, you’ve completed the first step in creating a token on Raydium. Now let’s move to the second and final step needed to get listed among the tokens available for market swaps.

2. Create the liquidity pool on Raydium
Once your token is registered, the next step is launching the liquidity pool so investors can buy and sell your token on Raydium.

- Go to Create Solana Liquidity Pool.
- Connect your wallet.
- Select the “Base Token” (the token you created that does not have market value yet).
- Select the “Quote Token ” (a token that already has market value, usually SOL, USDC, or USDT).
- Set the advanced options: Event Queue Length, Request Queue Length, OpenBook Market, and Orderbook Length (only if you want to use a cheap Market ID, starting at 0,4 SOL).*
- Set the token amount and SOL/USDC you want to add.
- Set the launch date (optional).
- Enable Snipe Your token (optional).
- Click “Create Liquidity Pool” and approve the 3 transactions.
Done. Your token will now be available in the Raydium listings for the V4 protocol, the one most used by the community. If you are not sure what this protocol offers, we recommend checking our post on the differences between Raydium V4 vs. V5.
It is worth noting that with Smithii, you are creating a Constant Liquidity (CL) pool, the most common option so far. However, you can also create a Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker (CLMM) pool directly on the Raydium platform, an advanced-user option with specific pros and cons that we break down in our CLMM vs AMM post.
Why create your token with Smithii tools and list it on Raydium
To start, Smithii gives you a very easy-to-use interface, whether you are creating a token on Raydium for the first time or you already know the flow and just want to get it done as fast as possible. No code, no messy setup, and everything runs inside a platform with extra tools built to support a crypto project’s launch and growth.
Plus, with the “Snipe Your Token” option when creating the liquidity pool, you can be the first to buy your own token and block external sniper bots trying to wreck your launch.
Why is Raydium an important DEX for listing your token?
Right now, Raydium is the second-highest-volume DEX in the Solana ecosystem, behind only the giant Orca.

Its non-traditional hybrid AMM + order book model (powered by its Serum integration) lets it offer deeper liquidity, better execution prices, and lower slippage, even on large-volume trades. It also includes useful features like yield farming, reward-based staking, and a trader-friendly interface that makes it accessible for users at every level.
We recommend mentioning in your marketing that your token is available on Raydium. It helps build trust and can bring in new investors.
How much does it cost to list a token on Raydium?
Any token created on Solana that launches its liquidity pool will be listed automatically on Raydium, as long as you have revoked the freeze authority. So, if your token is already created and you use the Smithii tools, you’ll need to invest at least 0.6 SOL (0.4 for the smallest OpenBookMarket + 0.1 liquidity pool fee + 01 revoke freeze authority fee).
You can also choose OpenBookMarkets of 1.5 SOL or 2.8 SOL.
How much does it cost to create a market on Raydium?
Creating a market on Raydium means you have launched your liquidity pool on Solana. To do it with the Smithii tool, you will need to invest at least 0.5 SOL plus the amount of SOL you want to add as liquidity, so investors can trade your token. We recommend adding at least 10 SOL to launch a token on Raydium successfully. You can also check how much liquidity to add to my token on Solana.
