How to Add a Logo and Update a ERC20 Token
If you’ve created a ERC20 token, you’ll probably want to add an image/logo, social media links, and other editable details. This makes your token easier to recognize and more appealing to investors.
Keep in mind that you’ll need:
- Access to the wallet used to create the token ERC20.
- Contract address for the token whose information you want to edit.
- Log in to the block explorer where the token is hosted, in this case etherscan.io.
- Complete the “Exact Match Verified” process for the token contract address in the block explorer.
- Complete “Verify Address Ownership” for the token.
- Fill out the official form to customize the token details.
If you don’t yet have tu ERC20 token y estás pensando en crear uno, te dejo una guía acerca de cómo generarlo de la manera más sencilla posible.
Step 1: Complete “Exact Match Verified” on etherscan.io
Go to etherscan.io and, using the wallet that has ownership of the token, meaning the one used to create the token, enter the token contract address in the search bar at the top to open the token page view.
Complete the “sign in” and/or “login” process in the block explorer. You will find the access option in the top-right corner.
Once you’re on the token page, go to the transfers section and open the “Contract” tab. Click “Verify and Publish” and follow the steps requested by the block explorer. To avoid mistakes, follow this Etherscan guide.

A verified token will look like this:

Step 2: Complete “Verify Address Ownership” on etherscan.io
Once you’re logged in, open your user profile from the top-right corner and, in the dropdown, go to “My Verified Address”. You’ll see a screen like the one below, where you can verify ownership of the token by clicking “Add Address”

Follow the steps shown by the block explorer. When you see the option to “Sign Message Manually” or “Conect to Web3”, choose the second one and connect the wallet used to create the token. Approve the required transactions and finish the process in a few more simple, intuitive steps.
Any information you add will be reviewed by the etherscan.io support team. You can also update existing details, but every change is still subject to approval.
Step 3 (final): Add an image/logo and social media links to a ERC20 token
To add a logo to your ERC20 token, you must first complete the “Exact Match Verified” and “Verify Ownership” processes.
A token with an image/logo and links looks like this in the explorer:

The process for changing the logo of a token ERC20, along with its social links, has changed. Now, you need to complete a form to request the updates you want for your token on etherscan.io. Below, we summarize the guidelines for uploading your own info for your token on ethescan:
- Enter the contract address: in the etherscan form. This will start a short verification process with your wallet (make sure you have completed the two previous steps).
- Add the logo you want for your token ERC20 plus the other details: the image must be a PNG file with a 32×32 resolution.
- If you add a page, avoid this: using overhyped descriptions (like “the best token, the most stable…”).
If you have not created your token Ethereum with Smithii yet, we recommend our tool Ethereum Token Creator. It streamlines the whole process so you can create your own token ERC20 in minutes.
Final thoughts on adding a logo and links to a Ethereum token
Adding a logo is essential for building credibility around your token, since it appears when a user imports it into their wallet or interacts with the liquidity pool on a decentralized exchange like Uniswap. Adding an image to your token also strengthens its identity and your project’s overall presence, supporting branding and awareness.
On top of that, adding links to social media or other information sources makes it easier for investors to research your token, adding transparency and persuasive context before they buy.
