If you have a Token project on Solana, Liquidity Pool-related matters are of significant interest. In this post, we will guide you on how to Remove Liquidity from Raydium in just a few seconds.

You will be able to remove the liquidity from your Solana token once you've added it, that is, literally whenever you want. We explain it to you in only one minute and without programming a single line of code!

Consideration to be taken into account before removing liquidity in Raydium

Before we begin with the step-by-step tutorial on how to remove liquidity from Raydium, let's review some key concepts.

Raydium is a prominent decentralized exchange (DEX) on the Solana blockchain that allows users to create and manage liquidity pools.

The blockchain process is as follows: you have your new valueless token, let's assume its symbol is $SMITHII, and you are going to pair it with a valuable token, let's say $SOL. You send both tokens in the desired quantities and in return receive a token pair, or LP token, whose symbol will be $SMITHII/$SOL.

Whoever holds the token pair or LP token will have control over the liquidity pool. Removing liquidity implies withdrawing your tokens deposited in a Raydium liquidity pool.

Important: If you have burned your token pair or LP token, they no longer exist, and you will not be able to remove liquidity. This action is often taken by those who want to build trust in their liquidity pool.

Before withdrawing funds, consult with investors.

Although it is already very difficult for someone to buy your pair if the liquidity is not blocked, it is important that you check the withdrawal before making one. This is because it can lead to legal problems with manipulation and fraud, depending on the level of the withdrawal. There are times when there is no alternative to withdraw liquidity in Raydium, for example:

  • There are clear indications to believe that the liquidity pool has been breached, such as the connection of the wallet to LP Tokens on non-audited platforms.
  • Upon decision and consultation, the liquidity will be migrated to another peer, either because the project has evolved and changed along the way. And this decision is supported by the community or holders.
  • You have made a mistake and want to make a rollback to recreate the pair correctly and with the right supply. Here we take into account the first instant and you want to correct the error less than an hour after the pool is created.

Removing liquidity from Raydium step by step

Without further ado, let's go step-by-step to remove liquidity from Raydium. Once the AMM ID is identified, we're going to use a dApp called Solana Liquidity Remover (https://tools.smithii.io/remove-liquidity/solana) where we will find the following panel:

Once in the app, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the pool address to which you want to remove the liquidity (see below the tutorial to find it).
  2. Select the quantity to be removed
  3. Click "Withdraw Liquidity" and accept the transaction.

That's it, you will have extracted the liquidity from your liquidity pool and you will see it reflected in your wallet.

Find liquidity pool address (AMM ID)

When we are about to remove or withdraw liquidity in Raydium we must identify the liquidity pool address. We also refer to this address as "AMM ID", it is the identifier of an Automated Market Maker.

What is the liquidity pool address?

A unique identifier associated with a specific liquidity pool in a DEX. It functions as an address or reference that allows users and other protocols to interact with that particular pool.

Normally we will be able to get our ID when we create the liquidity pool, as it will be displayed after completing the process. If you did not copy this address follow the steps below:

  1. Open your wallet address at explorer.Solana.com
  2. Find the liquidity pool creation transaction and open it by clicking on the "signature". If you created it at Smithii open the "sol transfers" tab and the transaction will be 0.1 SOL to the wallet you see in the image below.
  3. Scroll down until you reach instruction 5. Here your liquidity pool address will be #5 ("IdoId").

Once you have copied your liquidity pool address you can go directly to the liquidity withdraw.

Is it easy to withdraw funds from a liquidity pool?

Yes, it's very easy to withdraw funds from a liquidity pool if you use a tool like Smithii's Solana Liquidity Remover.

What are the risks of subtracting funds from a liquidity pool?

In principle, removing funds from the liquidity pool is a direct blow to the confidence in the token and the underlying team. Furthermore, withdrawing a portion of the reserve funds can trigger sudden price fluctuations, which puts all investors on high alert. Without Base tokens, it becomes impossible to acquire additional coins.

What is needed to use Solana Liquidity Remover?

To remove a de facto pool liquidity, you only need the liquidity pool address, indicate the amount to be withdrawn and click Withdraw Liquidity. At least, this is how it is done in the Smithii Tools UI.
