WHAT IS AN AIRDROP IN NFT
The term airdrop doesn’t immediately make it obvious what a airdrop actually is in the NFT and Crypto world.
Put simply, an airdrop is the act of sending tokens, cryptocurrencies, or NFTs to a list of wallets. Essentially, a bulk multi-send to multiple wallets at once.
Airdrops have 2 main uses:
- They’re used as a promotional tool for project launches. Users are offered a reward in the form of airdrop tokens in exchange for completing specific actions, like engaging on social media.
- They’re also used to distribute tokens or any other asset equitably among community members. For example, Metahelix runs monthly airdrops, sharing the revenue from their tool with holders.
