WHAT IS AN AIRDROP IN NFT
Although the English translation of airdrop is "parachute delivery" this does not make it very clear what a airdrop really is in the NFT and Crypto world.
Basically an airdrop is the sending of tokens or NFTs to a list of wallets. In other words, a mass multi-sending to different wallets.
Airdrops have 2 main uses:
- They are used in a promotional way for the launch of a project. That is, users are offered to receive some reward in the form of an airdrop in exchange for doing certain actions, for example interacting on social media.
- They are used to distribute tokens or any other asset equally among the members of a community. For example Metahelix makes monthly airdrops by distributing the benefits of its tool among its holders.
